Being a queen and a mother is not as easy as it seems. There were times when her children called her "your majesty", and were although loved, treated hostile at times. Despite the sometimes harsh realities of having to live up to so much, Elizabeth was a kind but firm mother who loved her children dearly. When she was raising her children she was more uptight about rules and etiquette but is said to have mellowed out with age. Her children and grandchildren say that she is very loving and has a special soft spot for her greatgrandchildren.
